{ costume of the night } i dream of genie
to my giddy glee, i got to get dressed up for a fancy-schmancy dinner party friday night! and though it wasn't required, requested, or even remotely expected, i went with a bit of an 'arabian nights' look.
i'm constantly seeking an excuse to wear this vintage shawl/cape/poncho number. while it works well for casual cocktails at home, or decadent dinners downtown, it's tough to pull off in the daytime! no matter, i'm sure i'll eventually work that trick out too.

by the time you read this post, i'll be laying along a beach somewhere in mexico, sipping an umbrella-topped cocktail and catching up with my sweet mom and sister... i don't think i'll be able to update the blog while i'm away, but shrimpton couture will be keeping things chic with my YSL sunnies (while they last!), and some new jewels ~ including this crystalline crumble collar ~ which i couldn't help wearing one last time before i left!
i also scattered a mess of dishy little candies across the glamporium, to satisfy your sweet tooth while i'm away.
