there's a huge, store-wide super-sale going on over at shrimpton couture! all of my rings are now 10% off, and these glittery glamourai gems have been marked way, way down {click any pic to jump to listing}:



now that christmas has passed, there's no guilt in shopping for yourself again ~ and you know you want something sparkly for new years {i sure do at least}!!

i took these pictures last week, when the weather was still fairly warm {for december in new york, at least}. by now i can't leave the flat without a wooly winter coat, so they're a nice reminder of a milder time.


the obi i'm wearing is a prototype for a new line for shrimpton couture. i'm hoping to debut them soon! the socks are the result of a recent weekend trip home to texas, during which i went a little nuts in the hosiery department at target. they had so many cute bow-bedecked styles! unfortunately, not anymore; i think i cleaned em out.

my five freshest glamour garlands went up on shrimpton couture this afternoon, and within moments three of them had been snagged. i thought i should give you all a heads up before the last two beauties have been bought!

i'm working on a little line of reversible obi belts for shrimpton couture, and begged them to lend me back a couple glamourwraps for color matching.

they generously acquiesced, and ~ well, you know me ~ i couldn't resist wearing this spotted slate version to a casual client meeting yesterday:

i love that it's basically a blazer ~ but a bit more boho.

this particular kimono has been even more difficult than most to bid adieu to ~ it actually came from my personal collection. happily though, i know it's destined to go to a good home, since shrimpton couture clients are all so chic!

also, i'm pretty sure this is the first time i've ever worn a proper pair of blue jeans on this blog {probably because this is the only pair i own}. these miss sixty's have been with me for at least six years, but i only recently salvaged them from storage and reinserted them into my wardrobe rotation. i love that they're so firmly fitted through the top, and so absurdly flared below. why is finding a perfect pair of bell bottoms such a rarity?

i'm karate-kicking around town today in my favorite full-leg pants!

whenever the weather worsens, these double-wide drawers quickly come out of my closet. they're made of the thickest pleated knit, and magically feel both weightless and warm.

lately, i'm also loving this asymmetric blouse. it one of those rare garments that automatically imbues nonchalant chic ~ the perfect combination of elegance, ease, and just enough edge.

ever since the impressively persuasive cherie of shrimpton couture purchased the very first ring to appear in the glamporium, she's been insisting that i design a semiprecious sister series for her shop...



...months later, a ravishing run of rock-candy rings has finally come to fruition!

i meant to send her six, but couldn't keep from claiming one myself. to be fair, i snagged the smallest stone of all (the other five are even more marvelously MASSIVE!).



i also convinced her to let me borrow this stunning skirt to wear with it (so i match my outfits to my jewelry! doesn't everybody?). i suppose i can be pretty persuasive myself sometimes!

considering today's abominably inclement weather, i had little choice but to tug on tall boots and a dress to match my spotted brolly. she reads: "it is especially in times like these that we need to look to the spiritual. in art, we find it."

for a while i've been wanting to design some really great cuffs, proper statement accessories in the tradition of diana vreeland, but it took me a long time to work out a way to do it that felt fresh.

in honor of fashion week, today's accessory coterie takes a french couture frolic, with jazz age jewels re-rendered into an edgier epic.

these haute hybrids ~ specially sculpted for shrimpton couture ~ entwine all of my favorite femmy fantasies with a soldierly solemnity. in addition to a pick of pretty neckpieces, i'm proud to premiere my first-ever foursome of posh/punk cuffs!

i designed this line so that every piece could be worn with any other ~ the bracelets are especially yummy worn one on each wrist!
