{ costume of the year }
as of today, halloween is exactly one month away, which for me means it's time to get serious about planning THE costume.
i love getting gussied up for halloween (big surprise, right?), especially since moving to new york. it's awe-inspiring to walk the streets, to ride the subway, and see literally every single person in costume. it is my favorite day of the year to live here.
last night i had a mini-panic-attack, when the shoes for my roommate's costume arrived and i realized i had zero clue what i wanted to be (serious existential crisis, people). these things take planning! it is like, the oscars for drag-queen wanna-be's like me!
i never go in for the sexy/slutty/kitten looks. i like a costume that combines gobs of glamour with tragic undertones. thus, it finally hit me: post-op-plastic-surgery-addict!!!
think of the makeup potential! the spanx! the giant sunnies! the tranny shoes! the FURS!!!
