london sparkle...

As I sit in London watching the snow bucket down and hear that for another day most airports are closed and flights are cancelled, including mine to France, I can do nothing but snuggle in and cosy down. It is not such a bad thing being city bound and knowing that the only distance I can travel is as far as a warm coat, thick scarf and safe boots will let me.

London is twinkling and while moving about might be chaos she sure looks pretty dressed for the holidays. Somewhere, way back long ago in my childhood memories I remember the joy of being driven around our neighbourhood in Sydney and marvelling at the Christmas decorations...I think this penchant for sparkle has stayed with me long after those 'dazzling' reconnoitres were over. Even now, I am just as enthralled by a fairy light as I ever was.

Today I am going to brave the elements and chase that London twinkle...I might walk into Piccadilly, take a turn up Bond Street and then make a promenade down Oxford and Regent Streets.... I might even swing by the Ritz Hotel and Claridges for a little Christmas inspiration...and an English tea. xv
