{ it's a trend } stem gems

i've been blogging on an on about anklets lately, but today refinery29 has decreed that it's officially a trend {too bad there are only 2 pairs left in the glamporium}!

what do you think of the stem gem trend? is it totally on point or too outré?

{ costume of the day } faerie folk

playing around with a new elvin-inspired haircut ~ feels right for folky fall days.

wearing: custom sunnies (similar pair available here), self-designed kenning neckplate, reworked vintage kaftan, vintage belt, colin stuart booties, self-designed avalanche anklets
(click the photo to own your own anklets!)

{ trendspotting } chic shackles

another modern take on ankle jewelry! i can tell this trend is about to explode.
(as spied on stylesightings)

it is finally officially fall in new york!

i try to prepare in advance for the changing seasons, i really do. but every year, as soon as it actually becomes cold, i completely forget how the heck i dealt with it last time. i look at my closet and wonder: what in the world did i wear?!?!?! (i feel like there's nothing there.)

and although i'm *almost* too confused to shop, i have miraculously managed to acquire a few ductile duds to cope with this conundrum, including rachel roy's perpetually pliable 'transformer coat.' it can be a vest, a frock coat, or ~ as in the case of today ~ a cropped bomber jacket (yes! all in one garment!). expect to see its oodles of incarnations on this blog as the season swells.

i'm also enjoying toying with my new ankle chains. yeah, okay... i know they don't contribute to keeping me warm. but they do look cute with boots!

wearing: fred flare sunnies, self-designed jewelry, (coming next week to the glamporium!), rachel by rachel roy jacket, tse cashmere sweater, F21 skirt, h+m tights, bebe booties

{ costume of the day } twinkle toes

you all probably know that, when getting dressed, my goal is basically to wear as much jewelry as possible
(otherwise, how boring!)...

...so i was elated to spot a mini-pedi trend marching down last week's lanvin runway: shoe jewels!!!

(lanvin / spring 2010)

these chic shackles are a far cry from the anklets of yore. i wonder why i never before realized my need for multi-strand chain-link leg pieces?

well, no matter now: over the weekend i stopped this devastating gap in my accessory arsenal!

obviously, with such fancily fettered feet, i couldn't let the rest of my ensemble feel under-adorned:

{ h+m beanie, vintage sunnies, self-designed spiral solaris necklace & bands of bling bib, jean yu dress, vintage cashmere dress (underneath), F21 tights, calvin klein collection pumps, DIY ankle jewelry }
