These shoes were a gift from ModCloth. While we were in NYC, we were each given a voucher for a Chictopia dress, but unfortunately it didn't come in my size. The ladies at Modcloth were nice enough to allow me to get a pair of shoes instead, and these are the lovely heels I chose! The order came quickly, I would definitely recommend ModCloth if you are look for unique and quirky peices online.

The first part of Chictopia 10 was interviews, moderated and allowing for a question period at the end of session. It was really interesting to hear from successful bloggers, and learn about their experiences and knowledge of a form of communication which is essentially still very new to the rest of the world.
Taghrid and Liz looked amazing, and Danny Roberts from Igor and Andre (who designed the tote that all attendees recieved) was the cutest thing! I was suprised he was so adorably preppy, I was most definitely expecting a more bohemian type. His drawings are amazing, so it's a bonus that he's cute too :) Rebecca and Judy talked about advertising and the balance between having sponsers and keeping true to your vision/keeping your readership. I found it all very informative. There are many things that I haven't experienced/am just beginning to experience as a blogger, and I feel more prepared if they do happen.
Pauline was someone I hadn't run into really on Chictopia before this trip. We got along really really well, it was so nice to "click" so instantaneously with someone. She is definitely one of my new favourites, I wish she didn't live all the way in Conneticut!

A note: Yes, bloggers look this amazing in real life. It was slightly disheartening to be surrounded by so many stylish and beautiful people!

So from here on out, you can expect an onslaught of NYC related posts.

Another lovely ChicReward: this AA bodysuit. It's an item that I'd usually deem too "edgy" for me but it turns out it's the right amount of sexy. Expect it to make rotations through my wardrobe, since I like the futuristic feel of the leatherette/mesh combo. Another great part of this outfit are my new best friends: the Payless lace up booties. They were an astonishing $12.50, thanks to a coupon from Oprah and Payless (50% off, down from the original $80 to $25). Seriously, I nearly died when I found out at the checkout. Thanks Oprah!

I'm one of the top 10 in the Chictopia 10 contest, so now I am going to Chictopia 10,
the social influence conference during Fashion Week!
I was so so SO surprised that I was selected, thanks again Chictopia!
I'm so excited to see all the other Chictopians, bloggers, editors and industry insiders! No amount of exclaimation marks can really tell you how excited I am!!! There will be editors from Teen Vogue, Nylon, Wall Street Journal, The New Yorker and Vice there! It will be a once in a lifetime experience, and who knows, maybe we'll have some fashionable run-ins.
It is Fashion Week after all!
Alexa? Chloe? Mary Kate? Ashley?

Whatever happens, I'll be sure to take multitudes of photos!

Dinner at an Indian restaurant for my friend's birthday.

The food was so very delicious, I wish I could eat it every day!

I have a love/hate relationship with American Apparel...

Most of the dislike stems from my frustration at random things being either overpriced, simple to make or sometimes, just ugly (fanny pack anyone?).
I do however love looking at the California Select ebay store, AA's own vintage shop.
They have several "California Select Originals" which have sparked ideas for future D.I.Y.s, like the "Hannah" oversized tank and the "Schoolgirl" cutout dress. After finding this fall lookbook for California Select, I'm thinking perhaps I will fit the bodysuit I won from American Apparel through Chictopia (thanks ChicRewards!), since there is a model is closer to my size than any other AA models thus far. One can only hope, right?

I got a ChicReward, (thank you so much chictopia!!!) and now I can safely say that no one will be messing with my floral brass knuckled fists.
Thanks again to the Chictopia girls, I loved the adorable note it came with!
