[ what's mine is yours / what's yours is mine }

last night i had the great fun of hosting a vintage swap party at what goes around comes around (the awesome shop from which this ensemble came) in new york. the concept was so cool: invite stylish people to come over for cocktails, ask them to bring a few vintage gems that aren't getting enough love, then everybody trades and goes home with neat new stuff (without spending a penny)!

i showed up happy enough with my outfit, but wishing i had a fancier handbag:

{sidenote: my 2010 new year's resolution is to bring back shoe clips. consider yourself forewarned.}

i traded in this ferragamo jacket (its shoulders were really too broad for me):

and left with a beaded clutch MUCH better suited to my ensemble:

{thanks to jesse untracht-oakner for sending over the pics of me!}

update: mimi over at brook+lyn also did a fantastic post on the event!
