I love things just a little different sometimes ... the Mary Katrantzou boots are amazing, the result of a collaboration with Christian Louboutin for her F/W 2011 show. The wedding dress shot #1 just made me smile and so did the painted floor and cool retro chair in the last.

I am so in love with that kitchen...let's have breakfast there! Just a few little things to start off the weekend...Olivia, can you get anymore stylish? Recipe for those delicious chocolate caramel shortbread's here and what a gorgeous way to display your favorite perfumes.

Have you tried grouping black and white photographs on the wall similar to the last image? I'm going to attempt it ... but I will use old family photographs in all different types of vintage frames...wish me luck.

I find the different shades of cream relaxing....kinda peaceful. I think it's because nothing is jarring the senses. Hope this soothes you today. (I have a claw-foot bathtub just like the one in #6...I think I've just inspired myself to run a long luxurious bath :)

a few weeks ago, i had my portrait made for a 'citizens' feature in new york's city magazine. they shot me in my jewelry studio ~ maybe you'd like to see where the magic happens?

ironically, as befalls every good citizen, i was called to serve jury duty today. i guess this means i'm a real new yorker!

i just added these summery strands to the shop ~ they were inspired, strangely enough, by this earthily perfect kitchen:

the cool crockery in warm, ruddy tones, the cobbled planks of knotty, mismatched wood, the bowls stacked like beads ~ to me these conjured barefoot summer days, pitchers of lemonade, picnic dinners, and coral-crusted fancies!

although the groundhog predicted 6 more weeks of winter, a tease of spring just blew through new york, the faint hint that it won't always be so cold.

the slightest suggestion of sunshiney days is all it takes

to find me dallying with thoughts of spring styling!

i'm looking forward to taking a cue from marc jacobs' spring 2009 runway, where he blended yves saint laurent and classic americana - and emboldened us all to attempt florid gingham patterns cinched with plaid obi belts.

this is layering at its most fun.

it's lovely to have maximalism back in such an optimistic

way. there's a freshness to the this spring's look that recalls

one of my idols, the astonishingly stylish loulou de la falaise:

she was a friend and muse to saint laurent, and it's

hard to miss her energy in jacobs' spring clothes.

i love when stylish people have equally stylish homes - it communicates a personal commitment to beauty that i've always admired. loulou's "colorful and generous" apartment (far top left, bottom right) clearly reflects the style and soul of its

chic gypsy keeper.
