{ vintage wishlist }

the downside of hosting a giveaway via a vintage shop is that i can't resist shopping for myself! here are a few items that if you don't buy, i most certainly will. it's such a shame i'm not eligible to win my own reward.

clockwise from top left: superb 60's leopard coat; haute hand-painted circle skirt; a chic day-to-night holiday party-perfect dress; cool caftan almost identical to the one i wore here

**update**
crafty crow just announced that everyone who enters 'theglamourai' at checkout will receive 10% back on their purchase! now you'll really have to fight me for that spotted topper!!

cheap + chic

you all know that i love me some palazzo slacks (this adoration has been documented here, there, again, once more, and now). they are THE perfect glamour pant ~ like a ball gown with legs!

if you too are liking the look, i encourage you to go buy now:

(12 by 12 paisley palazzos, $36!!!)

i wore this purplish pair today (with a drippy, clingy, silk jersey t-shirt), became totally smitten, and convinced myself i'm probably going to need both colorways:

happy shopping, and happy weekend!!! xoxoglamourai

a shoe for all reasons

as the weather in new york slowly sputters into spring, i find myself in a panic over footwear. what's right for right now? what works for work, and sizzles on the street? certainly not a boot, nor a seriously summery sandal. it's too late for suede, too early for cork.

this peculiar time of year calls for an especially ambidextrous shoe. as nothing in my own trove seemed sufficiently flexible, i recently began a fevered hunt for the perfect mid-season, transitional tread.

the search ended here:

it is everything. the black patent bottom recalls a more formal, wintry look, which is tempered by the sunny raffia midsection and wooden foot bed. the natural snakeskin disappears on a naked leg, pops with a sheer black stocking. the platform wedge lifts a lass up over the puddles of an unexpected spring rain. it is serious, but not too-too. it coordinates with black, with brown, with white, and any color in between. it's a wardrobe workhorse.

that is, so i'm hoping. my shipment is still en route ;)
