I know NYFW is in full swing, and I already feel hungover and beat, so I really have to give a big thank you to everyone who took time out of their crazy schedules and stopped by our Triskaidekaphobia Valentines Day Party at Screaming Mimi's last night. I hope you all got their fill of Kumquat Cupcakes and pink champagne, and had a chance to sit down with Michael a.k.a. One Line to Live for a palm reading. Although I've been waiting for what seems like years to get my palm read by him, his table was understandably mobbed the entire night, and alas I'll have to wait for my turn another time. If you didn't make it last night, make sure to stop by the store, all the jewelry will be up for the rest of the month. Happy Halloween! I thought I would share with you some images from the Triskaidekaphobia Fall 2010 collection lookbook, which was recently shot by our very talented friend Dom Smith, and features the lovely Mallory June. This season, we created two groups: the first was inspired by the nautical imagery of shipwrecks and sea-monsters, the second by the jewelry of my favorite guilty television pleasure, The Tudors (Jimmy calls it "lady filth") and the creatures in Jim Henson's film, The Dark Crystal. So, I'm about two minutes from passing out (when will I learn that ten hour work days on four hours of sleep never work), but I have two tidbits of information that I wanted to share with you all. First off, my eagle-eyed friend Maddy spotted this picture of Russell Brand wearing our "Drink Me" bottle necklace on Gawker yesterday. I know the bottle is backwards, but like a mother knows her child, I know that we produced this necklace. Making things is a strange business. Christina and I put everything together in our shoebox apartments, and then send them off into the world. We don't know where they end up. Sometimes they land on our friends who we love and adore, and sometimes they land in unexpected places, like on the neck of Russell Brand (who we love and adore from a very far distance) while he patronizes Harry Potter events. I don't know how Russell got it, if he bought it himself, or if it was a gift. I like to imagine that maybe it was a present from his fiancee Katy Perry. In all probability though, I'm guessing it was bought at London jewelry store Kabiri, where Helena Bonham Carter also picked up a "Drink Me" bottle necklace.

Anyway, this brings me to my second tidbit of information. If you live in New York and would like to get a hold of one of our pieces, including the aforementioned "Drink Me" necklace, we will be having a one night only sample sale at the Ace Hotel (20 W.29th St. Room 811) tomorrow evening from 5-8pm. Our jewelry will be 50-70% of retail, and we'll be selling our wares alongside ten other awesome up-and-coming designers. Cupcakes and champagne will be served. In case you haven't heard, the Nicola Formichetti store opened in the middle of fashion week, with a big ol' steamy party full of assorted pandas, monsters, and zombies, all hoping to catch a glimpse of Nicola.  Launched as part of BOFFO's Building of Fashion program, Nicola collaborated with Gage/Clemenceau Architects to build the mirror-covered space, which looks a bit like an imploding Bucky ball. It also resembles the famous Telephone Hat that Lady Gaga wore in the Telephone music video, which happens to be on prominent display, along with several other infamous Gaga outfits.  As if being surrounded with a million reflections of yourself wasn't overstimulating enough, there are strobe lights strategically placed around, so the entire interior is constantly flashing and reflecting a trillion watts of lights. Obviously not built for the seizure prone.

Anyway, Christina and I are really proud to have Triskaidekaphobia on sale at the store, alongside some of our besties like Chrishabana and Zana Bayne.  The store is only open until September 21st, so hurry down to check it out before it all disappears!

PANDAS!

If you are in New York for Fashion Week, or for any reason at all, you probably haven't been able to avoid all the hype surrounding Vogue's annual Fashion's Night Out. Looking at the massive schedule of events lined-up on the website is overwhelming, and figuring out an itinerary for hitting up all my favorite retailers will probably require taking every subway line available. Still, there are four stores that I will definitely be at, even though they're spread across the vast expanse of Manhattan. Christina and I will be making in-store appearances at both Screaming Mimi's and Convent with Triskaidekaphobia Jewelry, and I will definitely be stopping in at another of our retailers Seven. Somehow, between all this, I will also head uptown to Barney's to see Andrew Yang's latest collection of dolls. Details for all four events below. Hope you can stop by and say hello!

After much anticipation, I'm happy to announce the opening of my friend Sarah's store, Life: Curated, which we all celebrated with a raucous party last Thursday. Sarah and her partner Ryan have been hard at work for the past six months buying for the store and building out the beautiful space on 186 Grand St. in Williamsburg, Brooklyn. The shop sells clothes for both men and women, in addition to a selection of home-goods and furniture, with the aim of providing products with character. These products include VPL undies and Laugh, Cry, Repeat tees for the ladies, Buckler drop-crotch jeans for the men, and Suki Cheema's gorgeous geometric-printed pillows for the home. They're also carrying a few pieces from or line, Triskaidekaphobia.

Obviously, we're a little biased, but we think that they did an amazing job, and the store is a work of art in itself, with an incredible multi-colored rope installation running across the entire store (you really need to see it in person to understand). Every last design detail was worked out, and Sarah's awesome, incredible father even had custom jewelry cases made to match the store's vibrant aesthetic. Make sure to stop by the next time in Williamsburg to poke through all the clothes and curio, and hang out with the all the lovely members of the Life:Curated family!

This past Thursday, we shot our Triskaidekaphobia Fall lookbook with our dear friend and favorite feisty blogger, Lulu Chang. Lulu has coyly been hinting at a move to New York for the past year, which is yet to happen. In the meantime, we have to settle for quick glimpses when she comes over for her business jaunts. This time, we really made Lulu work, putting her through an eight-hour shoot that had her climbing, perching, and tilting dangerously off of anything high up and unsafe that we could get her on top of. We even had the misfortune of all getting caught in a flash thunderstorm which drenched us to the bone, in addition to ruining half of our electronics. Thank you Lulu for being such a good sport, getting soaked, and taking a tumble or two! A couple of days ago, Alexa Chung picked up her Triskaidekaphobia tooth pendant necklace, after admiring her friend Daisy Lowe's. While we're honored to have some of Britain's brightest beauties wearing our jewelry, we're just as ecstatic to have our fellow bloggers, and girls that we know and love, wearing our designs. The best thing about having a blog is joining a community of like-minded individuals, and as corny as it sounds, I can't tell you how much I value the people I've met through blogging, and the relationships that I've subsequently developed. How else would I have met such a diverse array of women (and a few dudes too) from all across the world, and from such different backgrounds?
