my summer search for seasonary-improvery, which began with a new haircut and color, culminated yesterday when i hauled out my sewing machine, snipped the tips off a few pairs of harem pants (
a la marni resort 2010), and hacked the hems from 6 more shirts! five of these i finished beautifully, but i decided to keep the raw edge on this single scrimmy blouse ~ it felt right to let it be bedraggled.
obviously, i'm loving the combination of short shirts and high-waisted skirts for this summer's silhouette, but i'd like to mix in a similar set of high-top shorts for good measure. any suggestions for who makes the best pair?

my jade polish hunt! as you can see, my nails are bare now, but i'm off for a manicure this afternoon, hoping to return tomorrow with gooey green tips!
